Karen Shivers OB/OBJ

I have been involved in the sport of dogs since 1969 beginning in dog obedience and junior showmanship. I have been an exhibitor, training instructor, professional handler, professional groomer, and a licensed AKC, UKC, and ASCA judge. I continue to judge and exhibit in numerous events in AKC, UKC and Mondioring and I am an AKC Breeder of Merit for Belgian Malinois and Shetland Sheepdogs.
 
I became involved in Mondioring when I was at the end of my week of certifying my Doberman as a Narcotics Detection dog and was asked to stay to see a Mondioring trial. That was in 2007 and I have been hooked on the sport since then. I eventually got a Malinois, formed a club and began hosting trials in 2016. I have titled four Belgian Malinois in Mondioring thus far.
 
I am the past President of the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors, and have served on the board of USMRA. While serving on the USMRA board, I wanted to find a way to expand interest in Mondioring and asked if I could re-write the Obedience Only program. I was granted permission to do so and it was accepted into the program in 2018.
 
I am honored to be the first Mondioring Obedience Only Judge and will serve the organization to the best of my ability.
