Your Dog Could Play
Mondio Ring!
Traditionally, Mondioring has been dominated by the Belgian Malinois and (to a lesser degree) the Dutch Shepherd Dog. Does this mean you need to have one of these breeds to play? Absolutely not!
While many different breeds have shown that they can perform all Mondioring exercises, USMRA also offers Obedience Only and Obedience & Jumps Only Certificates so that the obedience and jumps (or just the obedience) can be performed separately. This means that if you and your dog want the fun and challenge of Mondioring (but aren’t ready for the biting exercises – or cannot do the jumps) there is still a way to play!
The list of breeds that have competed in the US also includes the American Bulldog, APBT, Bandog, Beauceron, Lakenois, Tervuren, Boxer, Cane Corso, Cocker Spaniel, Doberman, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, Giant Schnauzer, Groenendael, German Shepherd Dog, Labrador, Novia Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Presa Canario, Rottweiler and Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
